Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

When the rats leave the sinking ship 1Q 2022, what then?

I think many, including me, expect Chuckles to hit the road first quarter next year before it comes all crashing down but not before he can count the bonus. The rest of his cronies will follow soon after, most likely.

What happens then? You have a company in mid-transition with lots of consent orders hanging and lots of people watching. Do they scrap it for the next set of buzzwords the new people go for? Do they actually find out what makes business sense for a change?

Thoughts.

So we are adding more middlemen to get the slightest request done? Less, actually. They are slowing things up.

More jobs sent offshore? Yes

More indifference from management? Less care if you are resistant to change. Because lots of change is coming over the next few years.

More so called progress that only sets us back from delivering changes? More detail needed.

More layoffs? Yes

More attrition? Some. Neither are a knowledge loss. Standardizing tools, automation and knowledge repositories are key to combating that.

More chaos? With certainty, if you count change as chaos.

More layoffs?
More attrition?
(Both which is a knowledge loss to the company)
More chaos?

Apparently you thrive on that. For the rest of the company, no thanks.

My job requires accurate daily results. We haven't even gotten started with things yet - you think this is bad? You're in for a rough time.

Apparently you don’t have to do a job every day or at least show any results. Anyone who already hasn’t seen things starting to crash down already isn’t paying attention.

OP is dreaming. CS won't leave in Jan - not when things are just getting started. Big things coming in 2022.

I hope there is an Exodus in Q1. A lot of the folks making for the exits are toxic at this point. I fully support people leaving, it's a free country (well, kind of...), but people that are incessantly negative, complaining about anything and everything 24/7 are no fun to work with. No one wants to work with "that guy". There are legit grievances, but we all know "that guy"--who is perma negative and even complains about good news. If that guy leaves in Q1, the company will be a better place.

Stringing them along until the US companies default, and then injecting cash back in. That's the plan.

Our group of about 30 just had three people give their notices. Some people aren't waiting, it's that bad.

I thought Xi was propping them up financially to prevent any embarrassment for China. I guess time will tell.

As it stands right now, there will be an exodus as soon as bonuses get paid out.

Rumor - and this is just a rumor and I don't have any inside knowledge - is that there will be Retention Bonuses that are based on stock options that don't vest for up to 4 years.

I heard that management knows that lots of people are waiting to jump, and they want to slow it down so there's not a headline generating "burst" of people quitting in Q1.

Just what I'm hearing. I don't know if it's true, but it kinda feels that way to me.

Why would he leave? No other job will pay more. OP has wishful thinking, but it's much more likely he'll be with us a few more years.

Depends on how the ripples of evergrande play out. It’s going to affect a lot of banks in the US, and rattle some markets for a while.

I don't think CS will be out in the first quarter. But I don't see him lasting until Dec 2022. Charlie Company will dismantle a bit prior to his leaving, assuming he leaves on his own. The Board may force him out. This will be an interesting year to say the least. If he leaves in the first quarter, it will be on his own, and I think B. Daley will be the interim (appointed) CEO.

I don't think any of his first year options vest for a couple more years, so expect a couple more years of misery.

What do you expect to come 'crashing down'? The Financial Stability Board recently gave us a 1 rating (1-5 with 1 being highest). I'd venture an opinion that this will bode well for the regulators and certainly the shareholders. He'll do at least 5 years until he either turns this place around or his options mature and he bails.

Are you sure they will leave that soon? I can’t wait for it but sounds like all of these so called leaders are very comfortable here and no one bothers them... not even a board of directors😐

It would make most sense to find out what really makes sense for the business and come up with a solid five year plan.

But American business doesn’t do that, which is why they are losing on the world stage these days.
