Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Fiserv Screwed Employees in 2020!

I just got a notification today that Fiserv is changing our medical benefits program, and you will have to pay medical based on your salary now. The more you make, the more you pay. The new Fiserv glass ceiling moto. Now I get another 75$ a paycheck taken out, which brings my grand total for medical to roughly $1,225 (Premiums and HSA costs) a month, WTF. I work hard for Fiserv. Now it is okay for HR to siphon even more from my family. A $150 is a lot to take away, and it means I have to give something up to provide for my family.

If you think about it, employees got royally screwed this year: 401k match gone, ESPP Stock Discounts gone, and higher medical premiums.

Yet the company can buy 5.7 million shares for sock at $550 million in second quarter and spend $885 million in first quarter buybacks. How come this company can’t invest a fraction of the $1.4 billion it spent on stock buybacks, and take care of their employees through their benefits program? It just sickens me to read this in the stockholders earning report https://investors.fiserv.com/financial-information/quarterly-results

I didn’t want to believe all the negative comments on here, but the new leadership seems like a bunch of corrupt greedy b–tards that get rich off the hard work of others.

You weren't getting paid less than market average. It is just that every other company is just paying more than market average. Now we should all scoff at those other companies for not only paying 'over market average', but also offering things like 'perks'. Ridiculous. Fiserv always pays exactly market average. That is how you know you are getting paid market average.

Even before the merger, I could never get over the fact that I was underpaid, and with zero chance at ever getting a yearly bonus. Yet my CEO made multi-millions in annual bonuses.

When I visited Lake Mary, I saw all these employees working late in the evening, and actually boasting about it. I looked around and wondered, "WHY?" This company isn't going to compensate you for your efforts. And I was making 10-15% less than the market average, anyway.

It’s pretty simple really. It’s about job preservation. Jeff just got bounced, if Frank who has done nothing for share price, doesn’t show results soon, he’ll exit quickly. Now frank is worth literally half a billion dollars so it’s all just a game for these guys

This social justice wealth redistribution is the straw that broke my back. I will be updating my resume.

Fiserv has become an extremely embarrassing place to work. Basing health insurance costs on paycheck size? That is just plain absurd and makes absolutely no sense. Taking away the 401k match and then turning around to "help minority businesses"? Give me a break, what a phony crock that is, caring more about company image than your own employees. What a shameful company.

Maybe they exist in the HR department?

I posted this 2 weeks ago and HR jumped in the thread and said I was a complete liar and a jerk. Some things may have changed because I had a preliminary view but I was correct about the premium increases. I did hear 401K match is returning but at a much reduce rate (half what it was) and the stock discount will also return, again at a much reduced rate. You'll find out tomorrow how many health care provider choices you have but from what I saw last week they were reduced as well. Good luck finding that one person paying the 'fair' lower premium, just ask HR, they exist somewhere in the company!

This is typical First Data management. They did the same thing to us before the buyout. Took away every benefit from us. My suggestion is to start looking elsewhere. There are way better companies to work for. Trust me I left in 2018 and it was the best decision in my life. My company actually increased our 401K match in 2019.

Mgmt would like to thank you for giving us your 401k match so we can buy back stock and grow our millions

You just summarized all of capitalism. Wealthy people do not work, they just need to own the place where other people work and keep the bulk of the profits for themselves. The company does stock buybacks so Bill Lumbergh's stock will go up a quarter of a point.

Fiserv screws all employees by poor pay across the board, NEVER a place matching industry standard. Or give employees a stand industry salary increase when management tries to put it into effect.
