Support Team Toxic Work Environments

My group was absorbed into another group last year and the group we were added to is the very definition of a toxic work environment. Leadership in this new group is arrogant, condescending, has no effective communications skills, displays flagrant favoritism between old group and new group, refuses to trust new team members, and is constantly talking sm--k about our group's former leadership even though that leadership was vastly superior to current leadership in every possible way. People are talking and sharing their experiences and yet nothing is being done to resolve any of it which is just another disgusting display of failed leadership. It is terrible to come to work every day and want to do great work and contribute to success only to be treated like you are completely expendable and or stupid and made to feel like you are worthless. It is bad enough with constant reductions in workforce hanging over everyone's heads, but lousy leadership makes it even worse. Serious evaluations need to be done of all current people leaders because we have some pretty lousy leaders that have no business leading anyone at all. Just because somebody makes an effective individual contributor does not mean they have the ability to lead and inspire others. VZ HR, if you are going to reduce headcount, for God's sake at least ensure that you are reducing the RIGHT headcount.

Union across the company, blasting it on Social Media & amongst news channels is the way to go. There is a reason why AT&T does not dare mess or sc--w around with their employees.

If you work a couple decades at that same company, you notice this situation described by OP happens a lot with re-org and absorptions. The problem comes down to the sr. manager, director or VP really doesn't not want take on more people and responsibilities. In a way you can't blame them- the flattening of hierarchical organizations makes it impossible for them to find time to really work with the absorbed group(s). So they stick with what they know and hope like he-l they don't have to figure out much with the new step-children. It's very frustrating and disrupting. Change is not always good despite what the so-called experts say we must adapt to.

All EDs need to be evaluated and checked if they belong in their role.
