Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

No Commission Starting March 1st

Double the work with Multi Store Mergers and “No Commission”. Just a trimonthly, sprinkles on a Donut kinda Bonus as they’ll call it. GMs will get raises, SMs are on a brink & soon there will be scavenging out the tenured employees to replace them with college kids & that too part time.

If we are asked to go to non commission or less hours shouldn’t we be offered VSP? I vaguely remember our DM blabbering something about June.

@1csa+199E4y4d Corporate stores are not even making enough profit to keep up with lease agreements let alone pay their employees. I can tell you that with January coming to a close not 1 corporate retail store will make a profit. Yes the pandemic has contributed to the lack of sales but don’t think for one second that the new team commission didn’t have anything to do with the negative results. Changes will be made. Confirmed !

The current team commissions structure puts anything sales related to the back burner. Hitting quotas and even overachieving them makes very little difference to our paycheck. Guaranteed $500 or so at the beginning of the month may possibly get up to $1,200 depending on RIS scores. Leadership knows they failed when they made this new team commission concept. If you remember it’s been tested out over the last several years and it never showed any positive results. No doubt in my mind that leadership will change commissions plan again but to out right eliminate is not going to happen. The company knows the retail stores have lost focus in regards to sales. All the reps basically just do enough to get buy without any real benchmark. I know from my own personal perspective I could be doing 30-40% more in all the metrics but like others point out we are just glorified clerks. No passion or drive anymore but hey this is how Verizon wants it now right ? The results clearly show leadership made a boo boo. Oopsie.

Just like the last round of layoffs. Allnthese people posting "no going to happen" and "wrong". Well these brainwashed people are at it again.

The trend is going to a no commission model. Verizon has been testing it in "Express stores" what is the difference between a traditional store and express store right now?!? Not much in terms of operations but a login Employee compensation.

How many sales originate in retail stores currently?!? Not much online, and telesales are making the sales and retail is processing and acting as a distribution location. That is how Verizon is looking at retail.

So yes most posted here are roumors, and yes some people holding higher position do post here, and yes union baters poster here and yes total mo–nic hacks post here.

Use your mind, open your eyes, and ask yourself.. what is happening here..

So they de-incentivized selling by moving to team commission. We lost money horribly. We lost customers to other carriers at a record pace. So the answer is lets move to no commission and further de-incentivize selling??? Makes no sense.....

Works great for Best Buy. Don't see what the big deal is if that happens.

Do you have a source? I've seen things talk about new commission but not an outright removal.
