Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Toward Operational Obsolete

RTO strategy is ramping up again with office employees now required to work in the office M-Th! Need flexibility? Talk to your manager aka take a day off. Oh, your entire team works somewhere else? Well, expect a conversation with your manager to move to the location where your team is located or find another position in the location you’re at. This is getting ridiculous.

Talking about parking space, this is one of the cr-ppiest office place I've ever seen. From what I can see, less than half are in the office on any given day, yet the parking is almost full.

Mid level managers being blindsided by Frank is normal and to be expected. I've lost count of the number of townhalls that have clearly spelled out company policy, only to have Frank send out an email the next day that contradicts that policy.

Does the New Jersey office have enough clown car parking?

Hey, the whole point is to force you out without paying severance.

Mid and even upper level managers were blindsided by the co-location part of the email sent out Tuesday. They are now scrambling to deal with the fallout as many are planning exit strategies.

Fiserv exec leadership summed up in one sentence - "Play stupid games, win stupid prizes."

Yes the head of the company didn't want to move so he brought the head quarters to a location convenient to him in New Jersey, vs expanding in the current locations. Now they laid off a bunch of folks and rehire a fraction in the new location in NJ for higher salaries appropiate with NJ. Got a lot of breaks from the State now has to deliver the headcount. It makes total since for a few hundred to move than 2 or 3 folks. This back to office deal carries a convenient collateral damage, if folks quit, the company doesnt have to offer severance and gets to rehire at the new location.
