Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Mgt and employees extreme adversaries

One-note Scharf and rest of C-suite use sticks -- only sticks-- and no carrots with employees. Threats are used by those who are pathetic and have no business leading teams and companies.

"Beatings will continue until morale improves" approach doesn't cut it anymore. WF execs are so out of touch.

Take your uninspired, dinosaur thinking and leave. You are dragging WF down.

WF needs true leadership that can adapt, innovate and motivate. Sadly, those with that ability don't want to touch this sinking ship.

@1mai Being able to capably talk to someone on a phone is a hard skill to promote yourself with, unless you're a twice impeached potus. Don't be mad about it, skill up like Charlie suggests.

So they want people to RTO to "collaborate", while shipping jobs offshore, where you'll have to "collaborate" with your new offshore peers per phone, skype, etc. Riiiight.

They can tell the local municipalities they are bringing people back RTO to keep the local economy going, but once those jobs are offshored, those people aren't coming into town anymore-most will then get a WFH gig in this new economy. What then ?

They probably see the 2 days from home as a carrot, especially when several of our peers are still 5 days a week in. I know it’s not what many of us want, but for the majority of the employees not in branches, that is a more flexible setup than 2ish years ago. (Yes I know many with telecommuting agreements went backwards).

Oh look, it's "current skills guy", lol. I'm sure there are some good people in tech, but F ups in that area are routine, there never seems to be any form of accountability, and the group is collectively so elitist and condescending that they routinely pi-s off other groups with their horrendous interpersonal skills. Funny how they never seem to care of those skills are current or not.

You know what they can do with all those sticks?

They reap what they sow.

@1cab management's complete and utter failure to wield a stick big enough to scare the majority into RTO?

Wait until you see what’s coming from RTO metrics.

"Modernizing" = bloating out Tech with even more prima donnas to support ancient broken systems. Rocketing into the exciting world of 1994 with "very flexible" mandatory RTO. Very cool.

your completely wrong. This place is modernizing very quickly, never seen so many sw engineers and data related headcount hired, its shocking. Also just take a look at RTO, this place has been very flexible, and compare that to Bank of America which is forcing 5 days a week in the office. If anything i notice the complaints typically come from those lacking skills and are horrified when looking around for another job and find either no one wants them or they're pay half what they do here.
