Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Wave of displacements AKA layoffs for Conduct Management

First off let me say that Michael Cleary is the most pompous lying sack of sh**. Supposedly no additional displacements were to occur in 2024 for the Investigations group. However, a bunch of us got notices today. I have an angel on my shoulder because I was able to tender my resignation the day before. That being said there was a large group of my peers that weren't so lucky. Its going to be great watching WF crash and burn when they place a bunch of know nothing Investigators in a role they were not prepared for and their only qualification is that they live near a hub. Good luck with the regulators.

Why would you want to tender your resignation, and not get severance?

Moral of story put your resignation in on a Wednesday. That way you’ll have 1 angel in each shoulder.

You know how I know this is a fake as F post? Here, I’ll break it down :

“ I have an angel on my shoulder because I was able to tender my resignation the day before.”

Who gives notice in a Monday? Nobody, just an attempt to add a dramatic edge to the post.

First of all this is not a fake post. It was a matter of being proactive in a job search. Monday or Friday notice, who cares when. There was no indication of displacements to occur in 2024 for this group. Yeah it su-ks the severance may have been missed out on but gainful employment was attained. @1blq+1tSwaujH

It's really simple folks, all they care about is voluntary attrition. Every single move they make is well thought out and intentionally designed to that end. That's why these people act this way and are horrible leaders and human beings. They know their behavior drives attrition, so they will keep doing it and downsizing people got fake reasons until we're all gone.

As already pointed out, what kind of “angel” helps you lose out on months worth of effortless income? A more realistic “win” would have been if you were planning to submit your notice on Friday but were laid off today. Then you would have options to snag whatever severance you were entitled to.

I’ve worked in the financial industry for 10 plus years and i’ve never had a leader as condescending and so out of touch with reality as MC. This man uses company dollars to catch flights from hudson yards to hub-cities; his purpose is to clock-watch his salaried-employees. He patrols the floor like a mall security guard, so fixated on why the office is empty on Monday mornings. He is so detached from reality that his direct reports are demanding neighborhood seating. The reasoning they give is partnership. The employees can read through the lines of reality, which is so he can easily determine which groups are not staying a full 8-hr working
day. The misuse of company dollars to drill this RTO should really be reviewed, as it seems like a total waste. I thought WF was in the business of costs reduction, but some how his budget for frequent flyer miles are unlimited. What is the point of attendance dashboards if the head of SPCM is going to work in CPG too. I’d be willing to bet his entire workforce cannot stand him, as his tone and delivery never lands.

Basic question so please don’t down vote or yell at me. What percent of those let go today we’re not in core locations or were wfh? This is important for the rest of us.
Thank you for answering.

“If you resign within the notification period you are disqualified from severance”. Technically, the rules are if you start a new job in the notice period you give up severance. If it was me I would go to new employer and tell them you need a 60 day break between and then collect the severance as you start the new role on day 61.

I am in one of the BG conduct teams and yes, MC is a piece of you know what. A grumpy a-hole with zero personality.

@kri+1tSwaujH So you’re saying that you still would have resigned tomorrow and foregone your severance package?

If you resign within the notification period you are disqualified from severance so it made no difference whether it was the day before or the day after. My angel is still on my side.

Zero context.... What were the locations that weren't allowed that people were let go from? And what were the listed Hubs for the role. I mean everyone knows this has happened in the past and is slated to happen still in 2024 and 2025 if you do not live in a Hub and/or you work remotely in a non-core location.

MC is an old f@rt that has no business being in the position he's in. His presence is the result of cronyism. (Big surprise, eh?(

He gets paid a lot of money to do essentially nothing. It's sickening, but that's the world of execs for you.

You honestly think anything that is said is permanent? Decisions can change the very next day. & Your angel su-ks if you quit the day before you would’ve got a severance package!
