Healthcare during severance

Does healthcare insurance stop on the last day of severance or till the end of the severance month. Thanks.

if you ever shot you can also do so o. the first day of a month and your health insurance will last till end of month.

So if your severance ends 11/1, medical ends 11/30?

i am replying to alert folks who get severance and our over 65. i was in this category and almost made a costly medicare mistake. i needed to apply for medicare under the special enrollment provision since i did not sign up for medicare part b when i was on the wells plan. you must sign up for medicare part b within 8 months of the end working notice not end of your wells severance and medical coverage. i found this out days before the 8 month time limit and was able to file the part b application with a coverage start date timed to the end of my wells health coverage at end of severance.

i know this impacts the tiny over 65 displaced niche-- but it does happen.

I know when u retire, healthcare ends at end of the month; not your last day of employment. I would think severance would b the same.

Typically, medical benefits end last day of severance.

This is why it can be a major disadvantage to take lump sum severance payment (in addition to federal supplemental tax).
