Sadly I have very good reason to believe this post is true on many points. There was a post a few weeks back that has the same basic points.
The comments here just show the pure delusions. thinking a company can be sued because the hand selected people that they're going to lay off. The company has every right to do it as long as these decisions are not using criteria that would break laws. Attendance issues, lack of performance, not filling out the redeployment survey. Criteria like this could be used without any repercussions.
If you were trying to argue that you don't believe Verizon is going to lay off employees were dramatically change operational needs. You really need to sit and think about it.
Mall locations will NOT reopen for a long time if at all. Smaller stores will be closed or converted to an Express store.
Don't be ignorant and think just because of the store was renovated recently your store is not going to be affected. Over the past few years there is a historical track record of corporate stores being converted to indirect locations. Verizon has for years been trying to get the big indirect locations to have a standard store model. What's a better way to achieve that?
If you are in retail working from home. Expect to be there for a while. Has retail locations reopen they will do with limited service and headcount. In May and potentially June there will be no commissions for retail. They will give the rationale that they expect lower door swings and having part of a team working from home. Retail employees working from home will be considered on the bench to return to the stores. you also have to take into consideration the employees from mall locations some of them are currently working in different stores than they normally do.
