I have never seen Halliburton do a layoff every week. Shannon and Jeff up there are destroying lives and going to sleep peacefully. How evil is that? They are getting rid of people in the name of cost savings blaming it on the war, can anyone explain how they decide who leaves? I’ve seen people who have done well performance still get laid off. The rest of the year is going to be anxiety effing riddle. Eff you j and s

Having to worry about layoffs each year is absolute madness, and the “leadership” in Houston is the worst that I have seen. It comes down to realizing quality of work does not matter, your a number on a spreedsheet with a salary. There is life after this company!
@19t that was during Dave’s time. I am not a fan of Jeff, but let’s stick to the facts.
@f5 it's amazing how jeff is still and power after that, four billion dollar check HAL had to write to Baker Hughes so not having any more foresight than a circus monkey at the u s government wasn't going to let number one and two merge together. What a freaking mo--n he is
If you are in Singapore, you are safe. Low wages and obedient.
Is IT safe? Many teams already so slim.
Guys, vote red this November and everything will get fixed.
Got the axe in Duncan today…..
I got laid off today and I am pissed_off because I outworked everyone in my department. So long Baroid! Will miss the good people I met and become friends with throughout the years.
@f5 make no mistake, their slogans and value statements are lame and no one gives a fck about them.
@xz Wow, bitter much? You’re also so angry you can’t even tell “your boomer” from “you’re (you are) boomer.”
You're boomer a-s is a fcking tool if you haven't woken up and smelled the coffee by now and I hope you do get your a-s fired because it's naive people like you that fck over the rest of us because you think being a snivelling animal will get you places meanwhile scmp's and pgl's use the fu-k out of you to get to their next promotion.
The hits keep coming. Got it today in Baroid at NorthBelt. Wiping the debt off the books before the end of 3rd quarter. Feeling the love from Hal in my rear

Sadly, Halliburton does not care about its employees beyond numbers or metrics. I've seen a number of shocking examples over the years of people let go at month end (cutting off insurance on day 0), released during the holidays, and marked as "ineligible" for their full severance because they changed positions from another country.
My advice is to have a backup plan ready to go and look forward to collecting a package when it's your time.
"The two best things that ever happened to me were being hired, and fired, by the Perkins Oil Well Cementing Company." -Earl P. Halliburton
The work environment is terrible with layoffs glooming in the horizon. I love my job and it would ruin me financially to be laid off right now. And I’m not going to even begin to explain how this would devastate my family.

Prediction - Jeff has mandatory retirement at 65, so he legitimately has a few more years to be the head of the organization. However, he has been a terrible CEO and I predict that the board will vote him out after the Q3 call - at latest by EoY (if not done so already) and call it "retirement". Jeff will be the scape goat, so Shannon can take the helm by 2027 to call it "Building what's next", "The future, accelerated." or some other d-mb corporate slogan.
God help all who remain
I gave the company many good years and they laid me off. I was told to work through births, weddings, and funerals in order to keep my job. They still canned me. I’m really heartbroken. Im at the end of my road. Nice knowing y’all.
What’s even worse is that they wait until the last quarter of the year to start layoffs. That’s the time of year when family should be the focus, not worrying about whether you’re going to lose your job. There’s so much anxiety going into the holidays knowing layoffs could be on the horizon.
