Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

PEP needs major Layoffs ASAP !!!!

This is the performance of PEP's management: PEP YTD return of (- 2%) SP500 is +12%, PEP 1-Year Return of (-15%) SP500 is +18% , PEP 3-Year Return of (-8%) SP500 is 62% !!!! Gross incompetence doesn't even begin to describe this. They have absolutely no clue what they are doing. Their only strategy has been "we hope nobody notices". Elliott Management can't get here fast enough.

@wk that for sure will all be gone shortly

Bottling support functions , away from home marketing/sales, all the useless areas cut massively

A few layoff rounds ago, they thinned out the Director/St. Director redundancies. The fluff layers were removed. Things actually got done efficiently. Then they added all the layers back. We’re back to square one with layers upon layers of Directors who suffer from inability to make decisions. The business is at a standstill in most areas.

@hp entire top leaders must be shown the door. All Indians replaced with local latent. Shut the Indians hubs and get rid of the contractors. We were doing thing far more efficiently than now. It is a bloated red tape worse than the government. Wtf does it take over 8-12 people to do what was being so one by 2-3 internal people.
Cut down the entire leadership paychecks by 50%. Remove the entire Indian VPs and all their nepotism network. Enough is enough.
If Elliot is serious he will start with the top and Indians.

@dw wonder if supply chain will be safe this time. Operations took a decent hit last year.

@dw I can’t imagine them cutting more frontline employees. Our facility can’t deliver our current workload drivers only deliver about 75% of stops and skip the rest do to hours. The sales reps work 55-60 hours a week. Merchandisers are struggling to keep up. If they cut more frontline employees sales will only drop further.

Lmao fk the investors. This co bends over backwards to extract cash and give back to shareholders at the expense of long term growth investment and employees. Investors are lined up at the te-t and sad that their little short term investment went down. Cry me a river

@fp spot on

The solution in PBNA is post refranchise, the new bottlers pay the old guard massive to come back and run the plants. That's place to be. Useless corporate overhead cut in process of spinoff.

Meanwhile in PFNA foods, sell deficient quaker and other loser acquisitions. Remaining chips business likely massive restructure...if all the best sales folks gone there, then unfortunately that's a death spiral to 0...shame as it's a good chips business.

@dw they can’t take from the field and sales no one is left. All the experience left with the VRP last year or first part of this year. I doubt the VRP will be offered again. What kind of plan is it to pay a VRP while you reduce middle management for the frontline. No more experience in middle management means the frontline care even less and who can blame them at this point. The people that used to stay late and support their location 24/7 have exited the building. Then while there on LinkedIn in they see sr leadership high 5 ing a “surprise” market tour that was probably worked on for weeks in preparation by management. What will they get 1.5% and a cube flavor of their choice at Christmas . Sad we used to have Big Al “Swagger “ and want to beat coke. Now the frontline looks at them and sees help and wants to join them it has gotten embarrassing. We could be so much better than this! We can be with better direction at the top.

@a7 When you don't build your base and promote from the ground level up, this is what you get. A bunch of leaders and workers who don't understand the brand/culture established decades ago. They just want to satisfy the numbers. The brand's product and core values are not well understood and to tell you the truth, they couldn't care less about the product.

There may be some division lay offs but the focus will be field and sales based. The plan is in place but covertly laid out. Eventually it raise its ugly head. Company likes Christmas time for some reason.

Layoff required . Yes...

Line up all the top honchos and all too loaded Indians and shut down the junk Indian fake work hubs .. rehire from scratch and get rid of the Indian contracting houses.... Impose quotas on number of Indians in the company and rebalance the work force. Things will turn around.
Indra sold out this company.
Time to take it back.
Let's start with massive layoffs from the hubs... They never did any work.

I believe a lot of people at PEP, especially the management, have lost sight of the fact, or didn't even know, that PEP is a business that is supposed to provide a POSITIVE return to the owners/shareholders who invested their money in PEP. PEP doesn't exist to be a jobs program or to advance the cause of DEI, social justice and peace and harmony in the world. It's a junk food company whose sole focus should be to provide a POSITIVE return for the shareholders/owners, something it is not able to do. PEP's current performance is a joke and speaks volumes about the current poor management and the structure of the company.
