Thread regarding NetApp layoffs

Is NetApp still the place to be?

I've been at NetApp for 3 years and recently I've been thinking that it just doesn't feel like it's a good place to be anymore. The UK management only look out for themselves. I've had no promotion or rises in the last 3 years. Do you guys think that now is a good time to look elsewhere ?

@157 no way , that place/revenue reserved for newer players Like Pure and Vast , and yes netapp sales are lazy they still think they are the best like no other , and very opportunistic just get the sale from devil itself , no matter what

@139 they won't hit that road to 10Billion by doing that. Half of the sales force are lazy anyway.

@139 Too bad it takes them 3 years to develop a new AI feature and by the time it gets released it's already outdated.

I had a great run at NetApp and am thankful for my time there (and great relationships I built). That said I left because there were too many stubborn people that were not open to doing things differently and more efficiently even though leadership clearly gave aircover and support. Ultimately when leaders don't action on folks like this you create an environment that is stale, entitled and not somewhere a lot of people want to stay. Not to mention losing any competitive edge you may have had. For me "NetApp nice" drove me away. As far as a place to work if I am honest you could do far worse...

@ch It's also an extremely overpriced product. Many other offerings out there that offer same (if not better) features at much lower prices.

NetApp was one of the Best Places to work back in 2000s and 2010s.
Come to Pure, we are growing.

Ntap of the 2020s is not Ntap of the 2000s , back then it was a nimble and agile company caring for it's employees and it's partners , hungry for new bussiness , innovative . That time is gone , ntap is now a follower in most new technologies and trends , not a leader in anywhere ONTAP had its time in the sun as a midrange Storage OS , now everybody does snapshots , there is HCI and new virtualization , NTAP is bottom in Scale out , sds , S3 and all new and relevant tech. IMHO the countdown has commenced , Exec team focused too much time in cloud (it was never a cloud company) that did what 200M per year ? and let go of all new trends and tech. Now they are just a bunch of ruthless people trying to remain relevant while the technology moves on
