Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Verizon Under Investigation for DEI

Company's biggest downfall was implementing DEI in hiring/promotion.

This is what happens when you hire/promote incompetent people just because they are a particular race/ethnicity as opposed to hiring/promoting someone of their merit.

Verizon will be fined millions of $$$ for this and will continue to suffer as you have these people in top positions not knowing nor being qualified for the positions that they are in.

Message to the hire ups and decision makers of Verizon: Hire and promote those who earned it, not because their skin is darker.

We have major DEI issues in my dept. Senior management have no clue what they are doing. The office politics, empire building, incompetence, lack of joined up thinking and avoidance of responsibility are an utter farce. The redundancies take no account of talent, work ethic and experience. I know about 15 people, black, white, men, women, of great talent who could run the place efficiently based on their skills and knowledge. VZ is a metaphor for society atm

@13n
Incorrect, just price every device and accessory at $0.00 and service pricing at $15/mo unlimited everything. No need for large deal team since making any money on Govt accounts hasn't existed in more than 10 years.

@a2, it's hard to get large government contracts with the majority of the large deal team gone. RIP BDSS

DEI was a huge reason VZ is failing. The amount of incompetent people in leadership roles that were promoted despite having checkered backgrounds (HR issues, etc.) was unreal. The millions that were spent on internal campaigns promoting DEI was also crazy. VZ was seen by DEI employees as a welfare state that was going to fund their yearly short term leaves, etc. without consequences. and HR stood by.

Cash flow has already been a problem for Verizon.

This would cripple Verizon- leading to more layoffs and then eventually a sell off.

Also, the days of Verizon landing large Govnmt contracts are coming to a screeching hault, another crippling blow.

This has been a sinking ship for awhile now, the DOJ will just be administering the final blow
