Are there really no spots in cities like Lone Tree, San Fran, etc.? I might accept an offer but they only listed Austin and Southlake as an option...what about Orlando or any other cities? I might not go through with it if TX is the only available option. Has anyone heard of any potential expansion in different cities for next year?

@11z The plan is to vacate one of the buildings at Gracy, when the moves to GCC and the layoffs are done. Probably bldg 3. Most of the positions in that building are moved to the GCC. It is the most modern one, and easiest to get other tenants to.

@rp agreed Schwab wants to play with the big boys and easy coast headquarters would afford them the Wall Street prestige - haven’t seen/heard anything about Main Street vs Wall Street in a long time - they want to be Wall Street based if not then adjacent. Sad.
Schwab is absolutely moving its headquarters to New York and they are targetting 01/01/29. The Texas relocation was an absolute disaster with zero access to the needed talent plus all of the issues related to a mismanaged state - constant flooding of the Westlake campus due to their lax environmentsl regulations, assorted policies that have impacted everything from the benefits they can continue giving to employees to the causes the company can support, being mislead on the tax benefits they were promised, poor infrustructure to support their operations, etc. Then there's the business impact. Big clients only want to do business with a NY-based and a lot of people simply won't give their money to a firm based in a state that strips women of their reproductive rights, viciously persecutes migrants and has a state legislature notorious for passing unconstitutional laws that strip minorities of their ability to vote and that discriminate against the LGBTQ community.
@tm neither commenter, but values tied work to comp, controlled costs and proved to NYC we were better. Chuck was desperate to prove he was better than THEM. Now he’s them but still an outsider. Then values regarding people with AI and LE merging. A computer and person shouldn’t be considered interchangeable parts.

Texas is a risky move. The Schwab plan is to pull out of Texas, and move tech jobs to GCC (India), and the rest to NYC.
It's true, there was only openings early the in the year when the 4/1 in office transition was happening. Texas is he-l on earth - don't move there

The fu-k they are. Current Westlake affords them tax benefits, moving to NYC would cost more in real estate, operational cost, and incurred taxes

I definitely wouldn't move to Texas because Schwab is getting ready to leave Texas. They are going to relocate the headquarters to NYC and will be shutting down both the Austin and Westlake offices. Phoenix and Richfield too, from what I heard.
