Thread regarding Mutual of America Life layoffs

Promotions

lots of eye rolling w/the promotions. Some real weak people getting the nod. Real headscratchers. Many who most definitely deserved a bump did not get one. Time to focus on lower level staff. Many in call center, wpc, ops derserve nods but were passed over. No rhyme. No reasons. More cap management get disproportional amount of the big ones. Time to get nix a bunch of executives and rob Peter to pay Paul to give the little man a raise. I'm stuck at $67,000 for now. 2% bump. Suc#ks.

@11k rich doesnt know how to utilize baily. he is really the odd man out. he is being protected in the event something happens to Rich. i heard if rich goes down in 1-2 yrs, the ceo or president job will go to Baily. i heard tyler is being groomed and it is not well known but the real preference is to replace the two heads of sales & service with outsiders who will drive change. janofsky is not excessively influential & it almost seems like mehdi&stephen are dismissive of her but we are attempting to validate. one thing about her that we like is her infectious laugh.

@12q

Yep.

It is amazing that there have been 4 diffrent CEO's since 1979 and nothing has changed.

No matter who is in charge, MOA is run the same way going back to the 70's.

@mm

Nepotism and favoritism has been going on in the company ever since I started in the 1980s. It is not going to change.

No matter who is in charge, nothing will ever change. Promotions will always go to the "favorites". The leadership may change, but this stuff never will.

yup and there were many lower level employees who work their tails off and do an outstanding job that were totally passed over again. Some that were promoted have borderline competence and don't pull their actual weight. It is a rigged system with no rhyme, no reason, and hardly any of these are included in the formal performance management review process.
