Why Your Manager Is Incompetent (And Knows Exactly What They're Doing)

Let me tell you about the incompetent manager. They schedule meetings about meetings, give feedback like "make it pop," and haven't made a real decision in years yet somehow keep getting promoted. And the frustrating part? They're not stupid. That's the whole thing. They're just not applying their intelligence to actual work. They've figured out how to look like a leader from above: talk confidently, claim the wins, and let the team quietly eat every failure. It's a survival strategy dressed up as management, and the worst part is it works perfectly.

@10s At this moment in time, I'd say 90% of the folks in software space are simply trying to keep their job. The rest of the white collar industries are right behind. Their folks are just a bit more clueless.

Very true, add to the fact many are doing next to nothing but then telling all their people they need to work more or make sure this or that...meanwhile every time they just blame somebody else for their lack of any real leadership. They won't admit it, but they are just trying to keep their job and won't protect you...they will gladly throw you under the bus before them, so don't expect them to listen or do anything.
