@10x - where do you work? There are reorgs and layoffs happening constantly.

@qf << how do I pronounce this? did you pick this Post ID because it is most consistent with what 1980s hip hop sounds like? is this what you are "pushing" out?
@qf your taste in music is garbage.
@qf
Good fortune to anyone who may be getting pushed out. Hopefully it turns out well for you. Start networking now
@10x that was me talking, just before I got layedoff and found my role as cease to exist..
I did get a good package, to be fair. Life is good now.
All of this is salad talk all of you out there should stop talking about layoffs or reorganization it’s just not happening if it was the LT would be telling there employees. I have lots of trust in Shell and the LT is very honest. So please everyone stop talking about layoffs or reorganization. Ok
@104 seems like a likely next phase of dissolving P&T. Only way to save cost after shifting P&T into businesses is to cut people. There aren’t assets to sell in P&T.
@xs
You won’t have to wait long. Another massive company-wide reorg is planned to be announced Q3 of this year and will be executed throughout 2027
Give me a package and I will gladly get the he-l out
Salt -n-pepper sings, "Push-it, Push-it real good!"
There is life outside of Shell. It is hard to get out of the mindset to keep the sure thing. But as an older worker you might be able to just retire even though you are younger than most retirees.
For US folks.
Remember the rule of 55 let's you withdraw your 401k without penalty if you retire form Shell at age 55. And rule 72t allows you to avoid the 401k penalty if you take substantially equal payments for 5 years or until age 60, whichever is longer. That can also lower your taxes if you take lower amounts for a longer time period depending on how close you are to the edge of your tax bracket. it depends on your savings and investment. Getting pushed out might be the best thing, it is just a bit unnerving when you face an unknown.
The Special Voluntary Severance is now expected in the US every 2-4 years, and Shell is a sh-t-show, so people are making that jump earlier and earlier. (Especially those that had 80 pt pension).
Negative. I am 39. Shell Trading and supply management eliminated the lead operators. Leaving the 55 year old operators. Just a title that checks the highest paid box.
A “push” at the right time couldn’t be better.
Say, 58 1/2 with 30 years service, 3 weeks pay for every year of service (max year & 1/2), 6 weeks banked vacation payout, pensioned with full med benefits.
Happy way to wish all those condescending Brits a hearty a-m-f.
Duh
Isn’t it obvious
