After the dismal earnings report yesterday and the comedic and sad attempts to create buzz worthy news (man-bun Ken, WWE dolls) and the loss of foundational partners like Monster Jam, in recent weeks, it's clear we haven't seen the bottom of the... — read more

Progress
KFARR done. A dozen or so more to go Margo. Nice w HR. Cool with CIO. Clean-up the EVP situation next. Would make sure you reverse the bad RGRoss hires. The new CFO will remove the useless finance excess.
JA thing was just a sweetheart deal?
As an ES employee with no real exposure to the what's going on at FP, I always assumed the JA thing was just a sweetheart deal put together by RD to allow his buddy JA abscond with a small fortune in Mattel cash without really doing any work. Its... — read more

Mattel has no incentive to improve

Q2 Report is imminent - wonder if we've turned around the company yet?
When the Q2 Report comes out, my guess is you'll see: 1) Barbie continuing in its decline, even though it's got more advertising % against it than any other brand 2) Cars 3 was incremental but didn't ship what they wanted because the movie wasn't... — read more

Ok, so I have to know, is this "diversity" angle working? Is it driving volume? Does the average mass market buyer or little girl care about man buns and blonde buzzcuts on women? Is this taking oneself much too seriously and what happens when you... — read more
Mattel has joined an elite group of
bankrupt or irrelevant companies such as Blackberry(RIM), Blockbuster, Sears and Jones Group. Maybe RD can go on tour and give his presentation on how he leads companies down the drain.
When RD was rehired in May of 2014 as the messiah of brands,
Hasbro stock was around $55, now it's at $110. At that same time Mattel stock was around $40, now it's at $20. Seriously, RD and his BS must go. He has to be held accountable...M-go, I'm sure your gut is telling you the same.

Context, and looking out for everyone.
in 1999, Hasbro stock dropped by about 50%, and the outlook for the company was dire. Immediately: 1. Many jobs at Hasbro’s main office were cut. 2. Hasbro’s Kenner office was closed down (only 70+ employees were retained and moved). 3. Hasbro’s... — read more
