Topics regarding layoffs at Intel Corp.

I can't wait for this agony to end.

The longer the uncertainty lasts, the greater the chaos here. Employees try to predict who will be cut and which positions are perhaps a little safer, even though everyone knows that no one's job is guaranteed. Meanwhile, morale is terribly low.

Perception of the company in the industry

It is quite logical that respected companies tend to hold their value longer. But is Intel as respected by the industry as it used to be? There are more and more people who say that it is not and that the experience at Intel on their resume did not... — read more

How many are still left to cut?

Any ideas? Over 1.5K have already been affected so far, and I'm hearing anywhere between 2.5k and 5k still to go. Which of these numbers is closer to the truth?

At least we know we're safe this week

Not a chance Intel is going to pull off major layoffs during Thanksgiving week. I guess that's something to be thankful for. Even if a whole bunch of us wouldn't even mind it just to get it over with. Thanksgiving week layoffs beat months-long wait... — read more

From what I've seen and heard it doesn't look like manufacturing techs will be affected. Also looks like the build outs are still going.

The Big Picture

Employment options are becoming limited

If you're bad at what you do, no more free ride, no matter who you're friends with. If you're mediocre at your job, you should also start worrying. If you're good, I don't think you should have any issues finding new employment, even with all the... — read more
