No RSU’s this year then

Seems that the annual equity grant is skipping a cycle and no one will get any additional RSU grants this year. Clearly all happening in secret/stealth, not exactly demonstrating the values of “We are Open” and curiously timed after the iPulse has... — read more

Arrays will be next?

Alex has ben saying this for months: Illumina should and probably will divest the array business. How likely do you think that actually is? At some point arrays will be gone, that is for sure, but I thought that would be years from now...

Layoffs are definitely done for now

I was afraid there'd be more cuts today, but I think we can say with certainty now that it's over. At least for this round. We all know it's never fully over when it comes to cuts at Illumina.

Who decides who to laid off?

Why are we always losing some of our most experienced and knowledgeable employees to layoffs? Even if some of the managers at Illumina aren't the sharpest tools in the shed, I find it hard to believe they'd intentionally let go of their best... — read more

Absolutely heartbreaking

Employees who were recently publicly commended by management for 20 years of service are gone. Loyalty is a one way street at Illumina.

Gotta blame something…macroeconomic RIF

100 hardworking PEOPLE lost their jobs today…and we still haven’t received an apology from leadership (current and past) for the Grail disaster. This company views people as expendable pawns, and it’s clear they don’t know how to forecast properly... — read more

Why wasn't this on WARN?

Just looked at WARN notices in California and Illumina didn't have any for 2024. I thought they had to give 60 days notice before giving the employee notice?

Is it done?

Our team was not hit so far so I'm not sure if we should celebrate or worry about tomorrow.

CEO holiday message

Positive and heartwarming. Apart from the total lack of anything positive, heartwarming and the clear message that more cuts are coming.

Most remote employees will be let go

As a part of cost restructuring and bringing back innovation most remote employees will be axed in the upcoming layoffs. There will be a strong emphasis is moving remote work to low cost counties if talent is available.
