Can someone confirm whether the taxis are prepaid by the company or is it a second slap in the face for those who have to return company vehicles by making them pay for an expensive cab ride home?

From what we're gathering it seems both low performers and high performers are being laid off. Many of them also seem to be a few months or days away from being vested. Pretty cruel way to save money and stick it to the individual worker.

Do managers know who is on the let-go list? Do they know who is about to get called up to those dreaded conference rooms? My manager seems confident that no one in his group is getting let go but I'm not convinced.
