Pension needs to end for Ford to survive

Why do people still get pension when it was ended in 2004...almost 20 years ago. It is not fair that I do the same work as someone hired before 2004 and they get pension too. This needs to end, only 401k. Ford is going to go bankrupt if they do not... — read more

Why do you stay?

Morale is in the toilet.

I don't know about your areas, but the mood and motivation to do anything in my side of the business is dismal. A lot of my coworkers are with 25+ years and extremely concerned about the layoffs, and the fact that no one knows anything like timing or... — read more

Emotionally attached to Ford

I am not, but I know that there are still a lot of people who are not leaving because they are somehow emotionally attached to Ford. I assume that these are people who generally need a company that gives them a sense of belonging. And yet, is Ford... — read more

Ford family dirt

Let’s have a little fun on a Friday. The Ford family has now made it clear how much they actually care about the “extended Ford family.” (a phrase Bill always likes to use) Let’s pay them back a little by sharing the dirt we have on them. Many of... — read more

Cruel for the sake of cruelty

If the job market were better, I wouldn't care

I was proud to be part of this company. But lately I am less and less proud. I am very disappointed at what this company is turning into. If the job market were just a little better, I think I wouldn't even care if I was laid off or not. I think that... — read more

It's going to be more than 8000 cut, isn't it....

The fact that another week gone by with no details from Bill and his crew says it all. You'd think a strategy would be to put something out there if it was less than 8000 to calm down the workforce if but a little at least.

I'd advise you not to quit

I understand the need to get ahead of things and try to leave before there are thousands of people out of a job looking to get hired again at the same time. I do. But by quitting now, you're depriving yourself of a well-earned severance and saving... — read more

How do you handle the uncertainty of layoff?

Constantly wondering if I'll still have a job in the next months is more than stressful. It would be easier for me to bear if I immediately knew that I would be laid off.

Ford will never be what it once was
