RTO is coming!

That's right, RTO is coming. As they continue to cut heads, they will get down to a number where there will be plenty of office space. And then it will be "get your butts into the office at least 3 days a week". Or you're next. All you have to do is... — read more

Email response

I emailed a few former colleagues to see if they were still working. Both kicked back an I am out of the office with return dates. Were they let go?

Separation and lump sum implication

Why are some people that are already in the system as retiring this year getting walked out. One example is retiring September 1 but walked out this week. Why would this person get 9 months severance as a bonus if already leaving. Only thing I can... — read more

There were no layoffs today

To the fearmongers, I hope you're ashamed of yourselves. To the rest, I hope this will be enough proof that layoffs are done for now and you don't have to spend the entire week unnecessarily stressing over it. There will be more layoffs, but I highly... — read more

Frat buddies run Ford

... and they do not care about you, Ford, the community. Frat buddies care about their bonuses and they are focused on finding the shortest path to riches. Remember that. That's why you got laid off, they need that $$$ for themselves. Now watch all... — read more

Why would you want to go back work for Ford?

For the people lamenting that they can't go back to Ford after being let go: Why would you want to? And, for that matter, why would you EVER consider purchasing a Ford product in the future? I was let go as a contract employee in Dec of '20 with a... — read more

"No Re-employment" by Ford

Part of the SIRP (salaried involuntary reduction program) includes a section that states that we can never be employed by Ford again. Any thoughts regarding why that caveat is in there? I'm assuming it's some protection for the company but I'm not... — read more

In an Internal meeting ..

A senior colleague who tracks and manage internal issues etc. asked where the “guy” is as it was his turn to share the status of the work, then he realized he isn’t in the meeting and then this senior colleague said “He must be on vacation today”... — read more

Big mistakes with salary employees

I have been with Ford for 30+ years. Years ago, nepotism and "the old boys club" resulted in unqualified people being hired or promoted. Without question, the process was most unfair to diversity candidates. Lately, though, Ford has begun forcing... — read more

Advice for those who have been hired in the meantime

The company is hiring at the same time, although I think it will be more and more difficult to find the needed employees. Ford may seem to be changing, but I doubt that the old philosophy of this company will change any time soon. My advice to new... — read more

Layoffs today?

Has there been layoffs today? If so, what department?

How many were let go yesterday if you had to guess?

Everything happened too quickly and seems like totally at random to even try to grasp how many were kicked. I know of at least 35+ just in my scope of contacts who are gone just from hearing about it from others.

I started looking for a job in small businesses

I think it will be quite unusual for me to work for a smaller business after working at Ford for many years. Some friends do not support me in this, but I still think that it could be even better for me and for many of us who lost our jobs here... — read more

Everything is fair in the game called life!

What is the use of being bitter or holding grudge or hate? Someone was lucky and didn’t get cut. Let him be a slacker or bootlicker. Those are his/here’s traits. Would you ask the same question to a politician? It’s just a challenge in your and you... — read more

thelayoff.com filtered in google search

Ford and google are getting along fine. Google provides the analytics to remove as many GRP employees as possible allowing Ford to avoid age discrimination lawsuits. As a partner, google is protecting their investment by censoring coverage.

I am keeping the chair

I got used to it. Everything else, including memories, will be returned or discarded.

Returning laptop

Can you clean up the laptop from your personal file if any?

We are creating jobs in Michigan

But Truby said the move is not related to fears of a recession and it does not affect Ford's June announcement that it would invest $2 billion in Michigan to create 3,200 union jobs, including nearly 2,000 jobs throughout three assembly plants to... — read more

Another Ford Management Failure

Another cancelled vehicle, and another large lawsuit payment due. This is why Ford is terminating employees, management can’t do anything right: Ford Motor Co will stop selling the Transit Connect van in the United States by the end of next year and... — read more

People near retirement seem to be the main target

They are not the only target, but from what I can see so far they seem to make up the majority of those who are affected. Which is especially despicable on Ford's part. Trying to save money on some of the most loyal employees who've been here the... — read more

For those that got let go, how were you contacted?

Do your upper management send out a meeting invite or were you IM'ed for an on the spot meeting? I feel sorry for those that lost their jobs and the way the company approached this. The uncertainty of not knowing is ki----g me.

Returning equipment?

Outside of a laptop, do you return the peripherals (headset, mouse, keyboard, etc.) you buy with points? I want some bonus swag.

This is just a means to get rid of US employees

Fools. I do think they've got the EVs segregated in a separate company under Ford that will make it easy to flush the whole works when the EV idea goes T.U. in about five years. EVs cannot happen. There isn't and never can be enough electricity to... — read more
