It looks bad to have a for profit trade school instructor position on your resume when you apply to a "real school". Not all of the "real colleges" understand that "you have to do what you have to do" to survive given the extremely grim economy.

I would say that they DO have a choice. A community college to start out, for instance. It doesn't take much to be accepted into a cc, and a cc can act as sort of a proving ground for students.

It's just not that easy to get an instructor job. Most instructors at for profit schools keep their mouth shut and collect a paycheck. If you are able to land an instructor job at a real college then you quit the for profit school instructor job.
