EOI question?

I can not recall the last EOI letter that was sent out to us. Does anyone know if we EOI will it wave our rights to unemployment benefits?

Last to know...

Just had a manager say "I had no idea he was like that , the manager is always the last to know", your right your employees behavior the thing that reflects upon you directly should be the one thing you don't know. Genius alive and well at SJA.

What all current COP employees need to know

Your supervisor might not tell you the truth. Depending on their position in the company, they just might not be in the know. He/she might be on the list themselves. If they are high enough up to know what's going on, they will be limited in what... — read more

A little perspective: WTI is cheaper than Ketchup.

"#A barrel of WTI crude is cheaper than a steel drum to put it in" "# Crude oil is now cheaper than Walmart’s cheapest value-brand drinking water" "# A barrel of oil used to get you an hour spa in Four Seasons New York. Now it gets you an hour Thai... — read more

Any news on how much of that 30% is for the canadian BUs? Any rumours of whether or not they're laying off juniors?

Announcement

So will the announcement be July 28th or will they start dismissing the 28th? Because of the WARN act the total must not be over 500 employees if they can do it so quickly...

The oil directed rig count has seen a permanent reduction due to increased well production rates and a reduced time to drill. A similar phenomena happened with gas directed rig counts. To add more rigs we would have to see decreasing well... — read more

EOI

Next EOI (expression of interest) period starting in September to kick off large layoff in October.

EVERYTHING WENT WRONG!!

Everything went terribly wrong for the oil and gas industry in the past 2 years. Greedy OPEC, China economy, European crisis, and now a brexit. What is next?

Layoffs are happening right now. Where and when?

I have heard that layoffs are currently happening. Some in the Center, some in WCBU (finance and land). Where and when will the next layoffs happen? We knew it was bound to happen, as that's just good business/survival tactics.

High-Grading & Alaska

Layoff Plan

Here's the reality: there will be many more layoffs at COP and ANYONE is fair game at this point. You can't control whether or not you will be selected to stay or go, but you can control your preparation and your reaction. There's more than enough... — read more

If we are so overstaffed?

If we are so overstaffed, then why are we so busy in my team? It seems like everyone is running around in SJ and have no free time. I know we don't have any rigs, but people seem very occupied by work. How on earth can they think we have too many... — read more

New Jobs and Industries

Well it looks like it's merely a matter of time for most all of us. What other jobs and industries will be hiring ex-O&G folks? What's the next big industry especially in terms of energy? Should we go into batteries, solar, downstream, ideas?
