The real problem with the lay-off's we are seeing at Chevron and all oil and gas company's is just a symptom. The real problem is the huge debt Chevron and others has gotten itself into anticipating oil's continually rise.Where do you think all this... — read more
Kuwait Layoffs
They are not directly Chevron Employees but many contractors were laid off in Wafra today. That is just another sign that the PZ dispute is not headed for a resolution anytime in the near future. More Chevron employees will be displaced and added to... — read more
Learn to spell.
It's embarrassing to me as a CVX employee how many of these posts are full of horrible spelling and grammar. There have been some really thoughtful posts, but most make the author look like a real idiot. Learn to communicate like a professional and... — read more
Chevron Leadership and accountability
Th current group of senior executives have so terribly mis-managed, mis-fired and totally missed the ball on every 'decision' that collective group has made. Good ole team full of MBA's, politicatal geniuses, prideful & power hungry ego's are the... — read more
Future of Drilling?
Anyone know the near future for drilling engrs? Seems with the current oil price the slowdown will be dramatic on staff and DSMs. Anyone?
Leaving oil and gas industry.
How much of a pay cut could I expect if I had to leave the o&g industry? I don't think any other industries have 9/80, do they? Example, if I made $100,000 in o&g, what is realistic in the real world?
Pennsylvania Layoffs
Pennsylvania Layoffs: They started cutting people last year, so layoffs are nothing new in Pennsylvania. Lots of people went up for management positions (a lot, but definitely not all) to further their career and ended up getting screwed because that... — read more
Chevron's San Joaquin Valley Business Unit Layoffs

DWEP or CNAEP ROM?
Any news from DWEP? I am just changed to this business unit, I heard they were in the RAE and some got let go but I am wondering about a DWEP ROM or other cuts. Has anyone heard if there will be a ROM in CNAEP or more specifically DWEP. By the press... — read more

Bridge your service if you are "eligible for rehire"
I’ve followed this forum very closely for the past few days. In late 1999, Chevron was accumulating as much $$ as possible to acquire Texaco. My whole group was eliminated in 2000 under a downsizing program called SITE (special involuntary... — read more
What is timing of BU ROMs?
I am hearing about BU ROMs in this board. When will it be at SJVBU?
ROM in GMO
If someone can accurately explain this process.. Will all employes who were not affected by the RAE have to apply for their current jobs. Does the ROM just involve the employees from the RAE applying for open positions. Not sure I understand the ROM... — read more
OUT!
RAE/ROM in the GOM i wish they would offer my husband something so he could be OUT!!! Chevron has been great to us for 37 years…. time to move on to our next adventure….when are they gonna ask for volunteers….
Will CNAEP go through any more reductions this year other than the RAE?
The RAE in SJV BU for example resulted in some 55 people being let go. Is that the extent of it or there is going to be a ROM or a project Alpha focussed on BUs like SJV this year? This is all a bit confusing and hope someone can enlighten us.
How many expats are affected?
How many "must move"s among the expats? Each expat is at least a million dollars in cost. Eliminate 500 expats. That is at least 500 million. Could be even more. Will pay 25% of the next dividend obligation.
AMBU RAE
Does anyone know the actual count for AMBU RAE results? I can't imagine it was high since AMBU was just ROM'd.
Land jobs in coraopolis.
They posted new land jobs in coraopolis. Why do that if intending to nojv? If being absorbed by mcbu, it looks as though they would still want physical representation in pa while reporting up to mcbu.

Bad Math, Good Math, It's All In Perspective
No doubt a lot of angst and some well deserved ribbing of Chevron. BUT, the reality is that the main factors in Chevron's problems today are the price of oil (out of Chevron's control) and poor execution of MCPs (in Chevron's control). While this is... — read more

Watson and Yarrington must be losing sleep over the dividend

Will Chevron be able to pay dividends and pensions without affecting them?

Shell is screwed up but Chevron truly takes the cake

How many will be left of the 61,500 next year?
We have about 61,500 employees, excluding gas station employees, Monday this week. How many will we have this time next year?
Some on Street are paying attention but our sad dilemna is much worse than mere dividend decisions.
