It's back to work on Monday, just like nothing ever happened. You better work your fanny off and suck up to your manager everyday. Chevron needs maximum effort from all of you until the next layoff this year when you, too, will be laid off.

I magically became a drilling engineer today. BROKE!

The blood letting is over at MCBU's Houston office. I don't have exact numbers but the sense is that approximately 50% of the petroleum engineers and geologists were let go.

I am interested to see how many people are getting to move to a new job. Are there any must moves that have been placed?

I suppose I can use the time to figure out how all this repatriation stuff works. Not like I didn't see it coming, but I am not sure how all of this is going to work out. I guess the expats getting cut are kind of in limbo.
