AIG wants to get rid of legacy employees

The object is to pressure all legacy employees to move on down the road. If you are new to aig you will do okay if you are a good worker. If you are a legacy employee with over 5 years in the company, not so much. Thanks for your 5, 10, 15 years... — read more

Not even a raise would slow down the attrition

My personal opinion is that even an adequate raise would not stop people from leaving. Every week one of the colleagues goes. Others are looking for a way out. AIG needs radical changes if it intends to retain the best employees, and chance are that... — read more

AIG DOES NOT promote growth

As a veteran at AIG.. let me tell you folks why you even work here. You come to AIG as either one of your early career moves (college grad trying to get some experience) or late career moves (promotional management role / leadership).. those who come... — read more

Not sure why GB would want AIG staff after getting forced to go GB why would they work hard or give any effort to GB, aig should just layoff staff not force to a company that can’t keep staff

There is a sweet spot in AIG

Where you are senior enough to get blamed for anything and everything, but not senior enough to have what you say and request be taken seriously without huge amounts of effort. It’s a wonderful spot to be in.

AIG Senior Leaders Don't Care About Employees

AIG senior leaders don't care about how stressed and overworked employees are. Teams lose half of their staff and never get replacements. Do more with less. Who cares? Employees sacrifice their health and wellbeing to do a good job but leaders... — read more

Bonus / raise this year?

Do you think UW’s will get a 7%+ raise This year? What have people been getting as raises throughout the years? And also how is everyone else’s bonus? Is there anyone here getting 5 digit bonus’s? Or 10/20/30% of their salary as bonus’s? Want to know... — read more

Average here, rock star employee at competitor

My personal opinion is that AIG too easily gives up talents to competitors. I've heard of multiple cases where an employee here was very undervalued, literally invisible, and after he went to competition and to a much better company, he very... — read more

AIG is not that bad

I've been here for 7 years and I'd be lying if I said this company has not been good for me. I like what I do, I think it's meaningful work, and I am surrounded by good people. I am paid well, which also helps. I realize the situation is not the same... — read more

Horrendous place to work

The leadership is incompetent and driving the company to the ground. Most of the people I work with have no idea what they are doing. For some reason, management is perfectly okay with this. If you're one of the "lucky" ones who know what they're... — read more

How do you get the courage to quit?

I haven't been happy here for a long time but I'm too scared to do anything about it. I start checking out other companies and by the time I'm done, they seem worse than AIG. Is this really where we're at? No good companies left? No places where... — read more

Will we keep our place in the top 3?

Are there ever layoffs in underwriting? Or is it pretty stable for the most part. Also how are the raises/promotions in UW?

Layoffs

Has anyone heard about layoffs this week or next for work comp

Are you trying to look busy?

Because, hard work is not valued here at all. It is much more important to pretend to be busy! This advice, however, applies only to those who are new here. For those who have made a mistake and thought that they would achieve something through... — read more
