6 good people lost at JFK today. They will be missed.

They told me I was part of the 7,000 employee reduction. 2 weeks severance. I was doing IT work - special projects, MS Access, VBA, SQL.

This is peanuts now, and it hurts so bad. Cannot imagine what's gonna happen when thousands are let go. Imagine that mayhem!

I heard atleast 50 people so far this week at SJP. No specifics tho. Looks like mostly admin/coordinator support kind of roles.

Today's at JFK have been the Global Supply Chain. The people lost last week were too.

There have been a handful of people let go from JFK this week. Not sure of exact number or department.

I was informed that our MFG facility is down to only 12% of quotes come back as orders. Our eng dept has slowed nearly to a crawl... with minimal order support being required. and more and more work is being outsourced overseas

I think the 140 is supposed to happen over the next few weeks, but not all in one day. As far as I know nothing has happened today.

We've heard that close to 140 people were laid off today at the corporate office? Can anyone confirm?

Apparently there will be more at JFK today.

An upper manager involved with planning the layoffs said the 7000 number used in the press release was based on the estimated number of low performance employees. Probably determined by HR from the yearly performance reviews.

Rumor is that 9 people were laid off from JFK yesterday and that more people are expected today/early next week. The people laid off were on the administration side.

Nothing is happening in the corporate office today - it's calm even though I've see some HR people behind closed doors. You never know what's gonna happen here at Weatherford, it's the nature of the beast
