Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

WOW, that's a novel idea - let's move QCOMM community to a distant island and our issues will go away. We will intermarry and our kids will grow up to be best friends. That's a magnificent vision...

If you own Qualcomm stock outright, do any of you ever exercise your voting rights? Whining about relocating the company isn't necessarily going to change the culture. Showing up en masse at a couple of shareholder's meetings and letting them know what is really going on might. Wall Street doesn't pay attention to sites like this one; but when the discontent is right under their noses, it becomes impossible to ignore.

What company in San Diego has the "original" culture of Qualcomm? They use to care about the employees now they step all over them. Qualcomm should just move to a cheaper location than San Diego. They should buy Catalina Island we can have a Qualcomm community. Safe and convenient and we can ride around in golf carts. Maybe should have bought Detroit.

Not sure if this post is for or against selecting Software Dev as a career, I can tell you that after 14 years doing it I still love it. I am overworked but paid relatively well, sometimes is stressful and there are still many things I would change around me here at Qualcomm but I still love coming to work and solving problems. That's all we need, right?
