What a joke

Seriously, remember when Follett was the industry leader?

B&N is doing better than Follett.

BN College is a joke and it's poorly managed, we should be afraid of Amazon as they are very aggressive and have more cash to bankroll major initiatives.

The only way BN gets Follett stores is to outbid them, and they won't make money on these stores.

Current contracts are only current until they are gone too.

The current contacts still have a relative value which is why is it being discussed.

Look at all the prestigious contracts we lost.

Look at all the prestigious schools they service. It speaks volume about their business acumen. Follett brags on Notre Dame and have to jump through hoops to keep that contract.

Spot on. Why buy the cow when you get the milk for free.

B & N will not buy Follett. B & N will gain each individual contract when they go to bid on renewal and when colleges unilaterally exit due to poor customer service and high prices.

There wouldn't be a need for a merger only the schools contracts.

Speaking of happy dance, just delete that damn video. Great attempt to stir excitement about the business. Half of the people in the video have been canned the other half are still walking around with phony smiles.

It's why they bring in a non family member as CEO. Get rid of long term upper management. They want people who will be able to go along with the sale to B&N without the baggage of emotion from long tenured people that actually cared about the brand & gave a good portion of their working lives to the company. Some divisions of the company will not endure if there is a merger.

Nice try but according the The Digital Reader and other respected publications "Compared to any retail bookstore chain, B&N College is the picture of health". Not to mention it will probably be buying Follett as part of their expansion strategy as the company contracts are on the rise versus here were we are contracting. But keep up the propaganda it's always good for a few chuckles after those lovely quarterly town hall meeting and a definite improvement over watching the leadership do what they described as a happy dance. That was so special.

Follett is the largest and most successful college bookstore operator today.
