Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

All of these honest and truthful posts are ruining qualcomm's image

You guys better show some restraint in your brutal honesty, or else outsiders will figure out how sh**ty it actually is to work here. How long before the operators of this forum receive a cease and desist letter because of how derisive this honest feedback is to qualcomm's image?

If this is all it takes to ruin an image then you are SHALLOW and have no thoughts of your OWN. To me it's just satirical fun. QCOM is one the best companies to work for. Granted it use to be 100x better but it's still pretty good. I do admit my loyalty wasn't what it use to be. QCOM always talk about the total year end compensation or total rewards but you know what, I want to see the money, I want to have at least top salary if you're hiring top engineers. I think you can get a better salary in many other places. Perhaps not the security but soon that seems to be going away. Most of us work 50-80hr weeks. If you're HB1 most likely you're working 60-80 because they are generally more hard working than the typical American 7-3pm worker and complain half the time.

I'd be surprised if QCOM can still attract American talent when ~75% of engineers are H1-Bs.

Lol.. You think it's different elsewhere, when companies are in trouble wrto their revenue stream? You think Intel is different? You think TI is different? Sony?

If you are in denial and think that what eventually will happen at QC is the exception versus the rule, it's time you wake up and realize....you as a worker bee don't mean sheet to a big company, especially when it comes time to downsizing/rightsizing/etc...

In fact, what you should be surprised is that what is happening and now going to happen to QC hasn't happened much sooner, as it has already happened in the rest of the industry.

Like I said.. Welcome to reality.. Hopefully with those 16:1 stock splits, you actually did something useful with your ESPP, RSU, stock options and invested it in something that produces passive income so that your money is working when you aren't/can't work... Hopefully you aren't one of those typical american consumers that spent most/all of your savings, and have now no passive income that can work for you....

Welcome to reality... You're about a decade late...

Well I don't think all these things really hamper the image of Qualcomm... it is important these things are in the open...people are smart enough to judge what is bogus and what makes sense. Qualcomm is a good company and the layoffs of this year and last year act as a wake up call to everyone...to do corrective action.... the management/HR if they are reading all this can weed out useless information... Some things are true...

--> many useless groups.

--> Internal politics based on race/country etc is growing.

--> Too many VPs,directors, managers....repeated work at many sites....and too many "state within state"
