Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

It was nice while it lasted.

Anyone still doubt more layoffs are coming?

this how wallstreet is doing this days, and murthy is applying the same concept:

  1. create/exaggerate bad news (in QC case is China)

  2. lay offs, cut in benefits, shred families...

  3. buyback stocks while they are low

  4. create good news (china's report is positive)

  5. sell stocks

  6. murthy, davis and their evil alliance become rich

  7. You and I pay the price and start another cycle again

Note: this company is gone when Irwin is gone

Keep the 7up building for the next Dave Matthews concert. Also qcom counting on yard sale when crossing that street to decrease hated count.

QCOM is finishing off 2013/14 buildings. New ones? Not that I know of.

QCOM is still building new buildings so that is a good sign.

"anything can happen" is hardly pollyanna. But I don't find it useful to go full on Mayan Apocalypse based on some "local press reports"

Another hundred laid off in Silicon Valley or part of the 600?

Okay, Pollyanna. Just keep your head in the sand.

you are saying something is so certain that nobody should doubt the inevitable (layoffs), but so uncertain that wall street traders can't bother to price the "downward spiral" in? An efficient market paradox!

anything can happen. but to draw doomsday conclusions based on a vague article with a law professor quote. that's just silly.

55235 and 55304 clearly don't understand the stock market. Hasn't happened yet. Once official announcements are made, the downward spiral will begin.

Stock buybacks are the new normal! The bonus IS the share price and dividends.

Look how much AAPL did in buybacks in 2014

One thing that took a hit was our bonuses this past review period..they will continue using the licensing revenue excuse to cut costs in that area. Also note that the stock price has been trending upwards due to massive buybacks; how else would it go up after multiple quarters of misses? Stock price will be the last to take the hit because they will do everything they can to shore up the books (massage EPS, reducing direct labor costs, etc)

Quote: "Shares of Qualcomm (QCOM) are down 0.39%" - OUCH, that hurts. Give me a break, nobody knows why stock moves, might have gone up as well.

stock drops less than 1% on that "news" and it guarantees doom and gloom and layoffs?? anything can happen.
