Spoke with a sr staff manager recently and he mentioned that active discussions are still occurring to plan the next round of layoffs. Can anyone confirm whether these discussions are still happening in other groups?

"Active discussions" is "executivespeak" from people who are clueless about anything that does not cross the desk in their corner offices. The chances that they can tell you the Latin name of the bird that just flew past their window is greater than the probability that they know the details of anything they are "actively discussing."
200 in April...50 per week....isn't that how you avoid the Warn (sp?) act? They are likely doing the allowed now at the most aggressive pace possible that doesn't trigger Warn.
I looked at the linkedIn profiles of the HR people who broke the news to me, and their job descriptions are all hunky dory and include such noble causes as diversity, compliance, and inclusion. If they were about inclusion, why couldn't they find new roles for the "small" number of employees who jad to be let go? What do these people do anyways if they can't figure out how to retain people?
I wonder what the greatest achievement in HR history is. Probably something lame like "our greatest asset is our employees"
But if you think about it, doesn't it make sense to lay off more? This first round has barely made a dent in the Q employee count. I mean seriously, do we need that many self-directing directors in HR?
@Anonymous65397. Yes that's what it is - pure, unadulterated BS
Disclaimer... this is pure rumormill crap: coworker says expect 200 pink slips in april. Unknown if its global or just one division. Again, its not verified and can be pure bs.
It's all quiet regarding more layoffs so nothing to worry about.
A senior staff manager knows absolutely diddly squat. There are 8 levels at a minimum in between senior staff manager and Mollenkopf. I do not think even a senior director is going to be informed about such things right till the previous night
@64300 how market capitalization or stock value corresponds to more layoff
layoff is occuring due to future outlook
sr staff manager doesn't know squat. He's too low on the food chain.
Climbing since $82. You're all getting fired
QCOM stock is climbing. All is well.
no more layoff from what I heard in 2015
Heard rumors about more layoffs. No confirmation. Any idea which groups might be affected?
That's my understanding, cannot confirm it
