Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

ECMC leaders are just as stupid as the CCI leaders

ECMC executives, clearly you also fell for the same bull sh@t that the rest of us fell for when we were told of this great vision. You then listened to the advice of CCI leadership on what site to close. Apparently you have failed to realize that those CCI leaders are the sole reason this company was run into the ground. The only people who actually stood up against the unethical behaviors that CCI leaders tried to implement are the ones you are getting rid of. This would be why the Tampa people have been trying for months to position themselves as the superior location. This would be why Colorado Springs was not allowed to backfill the positions that were lost. Anytime someone quit they would backfill in Tampa. Did you stop and ask yourselves why people in Tampa are so hell bent on closing Colorado Springs? What kind of new leaders decide to close the doors on a site that they never even took the time to visit? What kind of new leaders decide to not even take the time to ask employees what's really going on at CCI? Have fun with the good ole boys, or is it girls, club. Have fun with dealing with TinaPodGoddess and her whole family, and all their cronies who just say yes to her every command. It's obvious you are way too stupid to see the writing on the wall. Oh by the way, maybe if you took the time to look at the credentials of the people you were seeking advice from something would have smelled funky. This is a university run by a bunch people with no experience, especially at being successful, you will be hard pressed to find anyone above the dean level with proper education or experience for the roles that they hold. What a bunch of fools you are! Can't wait to watch you crash and burn due to your self-inflicted stupidity.

944: There were several academic folks from the Aurora campus who transferred to the Colo Spgs/EUO facility last year. There was more there than just admissions/finance/career services. Wonder if those people will now try to get back on staff at one of the three Colo ground campuses?

I really feel for all of the COS employees that are being layed off. ECMC is based in Minnesota. It's cold there in the winter and lots of bugs in the summer. Colorado is a great place to go in the summer and Florida in the winter. Problem is that it is a lot easier to fly into Denver than it is to fly into Colorado Springs. This is clearly a business decision. Tina had nothing to do with it.

This is the original poster. I left that place a long time ago, sorry I didn't clarify that in my rant. To my point, Tina was wining and dining (both figuratively and literally) while ECMC was in Tampa. It is a known fact in Tampa that Tina has been trying to get rid of COS. She does not like a single person in COS because almost every leader has challenged her at one time or another. She doesn't want people who have brains. She wants drones as you call them and there were none to be found in COS. Tina has been trying to get rid of COS long before ECMC stepped in, hence the reason they have been unable to backfill. All hiring has taken place in Tampa for months.

I'm truly sorry that you lost your job. I know it hurts. I agree with 944 that the writing was on the wall. However, it takes experiences like this to really see that writing. Colorado Springs was so small in comparison to Denver. There is a huge amount of space to grow and expand at the Denver Contact Center. It's a business decision that ECMC's "fresh eyes" took a look at and made a business decision. CCi management had nothing to do with it. Please take your anger and find another job. Good luck!!

Clearly you missed the OPs point. ECMC didn't even take the time to figure out where the problems are, they took advice from people who ran the place into there ground. And speak for yourself about not doing the right thing maybe that's a SOCLE thing since that's where you say you were from before you got your great job in August. And guess you don't know that Colorado Springs is where all the Academics are. You know, the ones with real university experience, the ones who have been instructors for years and developed curriculum. You know, some of the few people at CCI who have actually been successful in the real world! They were only call center people for a brief period in time when TinaPodGoddess and Carmella freaked out and jacked things up and canned all the directors of student services once they knew the ship was sinking. Why do you think Tina hated Colorado Springs so much? They weren't drones, they stood up to her and did the right thing and worked hard to produce an actual quality education that hasn't existed in years. I have worked for this school for years as an instructor and have never seen people who actually cared until almost a year ago when real academics were brought in. You are clueless.

Don't be ridiculous! COS was just a service/call center. There was nobody at COS "trying to do the right thing" since there was nobody there doing anything except data entry, cold calling, and other drone-like tasks. I'm sorry you lost your job, but don't rail at ECMC about it. CCi is a top-heavy, bloated, inefficient machine. Of COURSE there are going to be deep, deep cuts to personnel. There will be many more to come. You've had ample warning of this. Not to be cruel, but I started looking in June and got a great new job in August. Have you not even been trying to get out? If so, how in the world have you not found something seven months later, with your resume showing you as currently employed the entire time? My guess is you just ignored all the evidence that things were crumbling, just like you ignored all the evidence that you worked for an unethical company for years before that. Venting a bit is fine, but in the end you need to take some responsibility for your choices and try to do better in the future. Good luck to you.
