On scale 1 (unlikely) to 10 (extremely likely) - what are you thoughts about layoffs at Qchat, QIS, Brew, mirasol or mediaflo?

Anonymous53695 : "should do hardware and not software..." means that companies should do what they are good at....
Microsoft : Software not phones(nokia), Kin phone, Surface, Xbox(a mild success),Zune,
Google : software ...nexus,chromecase,(only prototypes)....
.... QIS had its share of failures Eudora,Brew,Qchat....etc etc....if you want to do software go to Google/facebook/whats app...there are 100's of software companies...Qualcomm is QCT+QTL.... A pure chip company...like Intel,Xilinx,Altera,ST,AMD etc...software should support QCT/QTL ...that's about it....
Anonymous53495: "...should do hardware....not software". Where have you been the last ten years. All hardware today relies on software (unless you live in the 1950s). Go b%$#ch somewhere else.
Yea, ditch all of QIS, no need for it. Ditch Corp R&D/OOTCS as useless bloat. Ditch all of QCT 'tools teams' as creating un-needed 'tools' (tools for fools). Cut management, cut all QCT software and 'outsource' it as it's a bunch of hardware hacks, hacking up the code and creating a disaster. QCOM should focus on what they do well and that is make hardware (not software, they are NOT a software company).
BREW will be gone in no time, it's not an 'if' question, all that's being discussed is 'when'
Why is Brew still around - that's beyond me. Qchat was a joke from the get go. FLO discontinued service in early 2011, there were completely gone mid year.
MediaFLO was already shutdown 3 - 4 years ago :O
Would certainly expect QIS to have layoffs as QChat, and especially Brew are winding down...
All of the above. How have any of these guys added revenue to the Q? They are a FUN R&D division. The good engineers will get reassigned and the rest will have to find a new job. That's just my guess, I have no insight into any of this.
