Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Axe

I was part of their contingent work force i.e contractor. hence no severance package. I hear the severance package in general is 8 weeks of pay + 2 weeks pay per year worked as a full time employee + ~$1700 for health insurance. It is actually quite good considering you will have enough money until you get back again on feet. Wanna know a secret ? I have heard many people have actually got more as severance package simply because they bothered to work out a package persona;;y with the HR instead of taking whatever the HR threw at them. It might work, just saying

52686 is right..it never hurts to ask, and even if you don't get what you want, at least you clog up the system get them to invest even more time in this. Don't go out without a fight for what you believe is yours!
