I need to vent a bit, I know that I might be axed soon and have no other forum where I can vent… Our work is very demanding, challenging at times. I have excellent time management skills and I still try to adjust and function well in this culture. I have trouble pushing back, and that’s my biggest problem, I wish I can push back more, people sometimes have unrealistic expectations, especially as deadlines approach. I hate politics and there is a ton of politics at all level, the corporate level is pretty bad here. I came Qualcomm when it was relatively small. It was nimble and we know most of the folks who worked here. Now, it’s a different story, Qualcomm is now a grown up company and things have become more like other bigger companies which tend to move at very slow pace when it comes to decisions. Jobs and positions are more separated into silos, and it means that changing jobs will be VERY difficult if you don't know the hiring managers/group. Finally, nobody recognizes our work right now. Some groups don't offer any Qualstar awards even if you've busted your butt for many weekends to to achieve goals.

I don't feel he/she is "hating" at all, just venting, which is natural and healthy to do. One is much better off airing these feelings out than stuffing them down and letting them fester further. We all need outlets to "vent" and I am glad to see people doing so in a real and raw way. I appreciate the honest commentary from your perspective.

Thank you for sharing your feelings. I'd suggest that you go back to work, this site is a distraction and it does not help with your aforementioned time-management issues...
