You all have a 6 month lease on a job and then bye bye lol. Some faculty will remain but finance and admissions reps and doas will all be out.

No Shit it's the end, but it will be a slow painful end for many. Continuing to be paid a few weeks or months for many while seeking alternate employment options is better than immediate unemployment.
I think some of you are really mentally deficient. This is the end. What more is there to understand? Keep it real people!
We r done. The end.
Obviously, everyone will take any offer worthwhile that comes along. People act like comparable paying jobs are around every corner. Anybody who isn't looking is naive, I certainly agree to that notion.
You really think faculty will stay?? They are polishing up their CVs today and getting ready to go with the first good offer they get.
Use your brain to determine the difference between a 6 month lease vs. being unemployed on Monday. I know it might be tough to think beyond the surface of what this means, but drink a few beers and set off some fireworks...I'm sure it will eventually click in your domes. Income, Family, Mortgage/Rent, Other Bills, Medical benefits? Nah...Let's just quit so we have nothing but potential job interviews. Maybe we get laid off and bring in a couple hundred a week in taxable unemployment. Seriously, you can't figure out that buying time allows for the opportunity to transition out ourselves and secure other employment with NO income or benefit disruptions? Grab a beer and a Clue. Happy 4th to everybody...we should all be celebrating our Independence both present (as Americans) and future from this work experience.
I don't see where the stress is, Everyone is being let go. There is no unknown anymore (like there ever was).
Relax. Everyone wants to be a negative person on this site. Sheesh it is what it is.
Imagine working for the next 6 months, not knowing when you will get the call that today is your last day. No stress there...........
