Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Ugh Simona is gone. That is the end of FSS and any technology vision. And bringing back Gatsis a drunk and chauvinist pig!

I hope he understands how very bad morale is. All anyone talks about is the loss of benefits and bonus and whether our jobs will be outsourced or the company sold. Depressing to walk in the door.

8115 - I have to agree that his.tenure was a good one. No complaints. Maybe he can help make things better again because it is pretty bad now.

8137 - Thank you. Your point is also valid - we can't know what prompts each post and this IS a place for venting. All I can really say is that I do see this one differently. I see a person who is extremely hard-working, like many people here who have given Follett many years of service, and in some cases the best years of their working life. A person who is also smart, fair, funny & human. Mostly though, is willing to stand up for what he believes is right and who seems to care about the people who work with him and for him. Right now those seem to be rare attributes among Follettville leadership. I respect him for being those things, for stepping into a hard role at a difficult time, and for being willing to take on responsibility for leading such a large and critical group of associates into a better place.

8115- you may be right. I certainly don't disagree but that doesn't mean that the original poster didn't have a reason for their post. I suspect there is a back story there that we are not aware of.

I agree with a lot of the observations on Follett executive leadership and the breakdown of corporate integrity that are posted on this site, but this posting headline is harsh, slanderous and simply not true. I worked for both George and Simona for a number of years, continue to greatly respect them both. They each have unique strengths. Simona's unique passion and drive will be missed. George brings back more focus and perhaps a stronger ability to connect market opportunity with what FSS can successfully executing. I think it takes bravery and guts to step into a role given the direction this company has been headed and that ought to be recognized not belittled.

Follett is on a death spiral, sales figures posted are years old. Just ask senior management concerning last years figures. It doesn't begin with a B.

Losing Simona is a bad thing. I really think Follett Software is dead. All corporate cares about is producing cheap crap that will help them sell books. They don't care about quality which means they will outsource everything and accept whatever garbage the offshore consultants build.
