The University of California Davis has partnered with Amazon for a pilot program where students can shop online at Amazon with their UC Davis email account.
For most purchases at the online university bookstore on Amazon by students the university will receive 2% of the sales. Aside from textbooks, the Davis store on Amazon also offers other student essentials like grocery or snack items and UC Davis gear.
According to the school’s paper The Aggie, the partnership is the first of its kind and with its announcement came a slew of other promotions. Students can sign up for a free six-month Amazon Prime membership and after the sixth month students will pay about 50% less than the regular price to continue their membership. Amazon has also started an Amazon Brand Student Ambassador program to help spread the word about the new Davis Store.
