Thread regarding Follett layoffs

I love to hear from the ex-IT guys on why they could not deliver and do a decent job. The new corp president and CIO have been clear that IT costs are 1.5 times more than the average retailer of Follett's size.

I have worked with some fine and productive Follett IT resources, but more often than not, I work with Follett IT resources that are weak.

Why do you think IT's issues are because of other functional areas and time constraints. Every team at Follett could use more resources and more time. But the accounting books need to be closed, the purchase orders need to be placed for the stores, and the stores must support customers, the school and the home office - the most constrained job of all.

Perhaps we need some IT resources who can work a little bit faster with more quality....just sayin
