Thread regarding Follett layoffs

there is life after Follett

I finally secured a job after 10 weeks of being unemployed. The University that my store served has offered me a job with better benefits, good pay and a wonderful opportunity to grow. I worked for our campus bookstore for over 20 years and the layoff was quite a blow financially and emotionally. With my years of service to the university came great contacts and friendships. This is what really helped in my job search. For those still looking, start networking with the folks that know what a great job you did at the bookstore. To those of you still working in the trenches, please know that there is life after Follett. I can't tell you how free it feels to not have to work for a company that doesn't value me or my former co-workers. I preached the Follett Values each day when I worked for them but when it came down to it, those values meant nothing to the people who replaced all of the valuable staff. My former manager and co-workers are ready to throw the keys and walk out the door. Thinking of all of you during the rush and hoping that you get out while you can.
