Today we announced our plan to put four Everest campuses up for sale: Brighton, Mass.; North Aurora, Ill.; Miami, Fla.; and Kendall, Fla. While we remain committed to the Massachusetts, Illinois, and Florida markets, these schools have been unable to build student enrollment over a number of years and as a result, they have struggled financially. However, they are doing well in terms of student achievement and regulatory compliance, and we believe their accomplishments will be attractive to a buyer.
It is never an easy decision to sell any of our campuses, and we recognize that it can create uncertainty for employees and students alike. During the sales process, however, the schools will continue to operate as usual: existing students will be able to receive financial aid and complete their programs; and graduates will receive assistance with job placement.
We want to express our appreciation to the employees of the Brighton, North Aurora, Miami and Kendall campuses for their on-going dedication to student success. As we move through the sales process, staying focused on students will continue to be our top priority.
