Let's call it like it is, a termination. Layoff leaves the impression that this is temporary, by no means is this temporary. The powers that be picked up the phone and became judge, jury and executioner as they read from their scripted letter and they have the balls to continue to preach the Follett values. I particularly like the information contained in our termination packages informing us of how to tell our families about our job loss...do it in person not over the phone it reads. Wouldn't that have been a nice luxury from our company after all the years of ramming the Follett Values down our throats?
