Follett just declared itself the Circuit City of booksellers. Same strategy: Fire anyone with institutional knowledge and loyalty to the company in order to bank their pay and benefits; bring in low-paid, part-time, retail migrants, expect to profit. Like CC they will find that people who have no investment in their company, but who are the most "customer-facing," don't put the best face on the company.
