I quit the company a few months ago after 15 years of service. It was bittersweet because I loved my job. On my last day no one called to say goodbye-not my regional of 8 years, my GVP of 10 years nor the VP who allowed me several opportunities whom I had known for 15 years. I knew then I had made the right decision....these were not leaders, just cogs in the wheel. I got a great job with better benefits....it can be done. We have marketable skills as managers that can transfer to many industries. Don't get me wrong....it was tough for about a month but the job market proved to be better that expected as many of my colleagues who left soon after me discovered.
