Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

The results of the Heald Phone-A-Thon are in and it is NOT good. Expect an average enrollment among Heald campuses to be between 10 to 20% less in the October 2012 quarter compared to the October 2011 quarter. Faculty members are to "pass everybody with A's" in the new mission of "We service the student". Faculty members who complain to administration that the warm bodies (e.g. students) are not academically qualifed receive the response "We service the students and if your students don't pass then you are gone". Heald will try to get rid of all full time faculty and replace them with throw away disposable adjunct faculty. The adjunct faculty who in theory make $21 an hour really make about $10 an hour after all the administrative crap is done. Adjunct faculty will be asked to "volunteer" to participate without compensation in phone-a-thons to sell the advantages of a Heald education whose major customers are responding to ads from the Maury Povich show.
