Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

I expect to see a lot of school closures starting off with consolidation. You don't need both an Everest and Heald in Portland, OR. The Everest gets closed and the students move over to Heald.

You are not likely to see massive publicly announced layoffs but many smaller layoffs over a period of time with school closures not being publicly mentioned. CCI might very well be done in California assuming that Heald is no longer eligible for California financial aid.

Privately I suspect CCI knows that the gig is up but CCI can't publicly admit that the game is over. While the smart play is to simply liquidate the company and go out of business, the more likely outcome is a rather quick decline of the company as the student enrollments keep dropping.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that you simply can't cut costs by laying off all the faculty with the sole survivors being administrators when you don't have warm bodies (oops students) sitting at a desk.
