Another blow to ALL for profit trade schools is Jerry Brown's proposal to reduce the cutoff from 30 to 15 percent "cohort default rate" as the criteria for terminating Cal Grants in Fall 2012 along with a 30 percent minimum graduation rate.

The maximum Cal Grant would be reduced to $4,000.

In short, California can't afford all of these programs and is starting to make some hard choices. Be aware that this cut is predicated on Brown getting his tax increase approved by the voters which is unlikely. The cuts are likely to be even worse.
